Project Requirements
Sonic Connect needed to upgrade their operation significantly.
They required a robust VoIP billing and switching solution together with the necessary hardware in order to run a full scale, high capacity VoIP wholesale business.
The company also wanted to host the billing and switching equipment in the USA in order to avoid local electricity and ISP problems and to optimize its bandwidth costs.
Solution
Avangard Solutions offered the Professional version of the AVAVoIP platform together with the AVAVoIP switch in order to fulfill the project requirements.
The solution was intended to provide all CLASS4 carrier features necessary for wholesale VoIP business. Integrated Rating, Billing and Routing will provide for seamless system management. The network was located in a collocation in USA
The network consisted of AVAVoIP Wholesale Billing and Provisioning system fully integrated with an AVAVoIP class4 softswitch. The softswitch/sbc is provisioned by the AVAVoIP Routing module transparent to the end user.
AVAVoIP Billing system was distributed on 3 redundant active/standby server clusters:
DB cluster –hosts the AVAVoIP OSS Database, Real time Database and the Data Warehouse.
Rate cluster – hosts the AVAVoIP Rating and Tax Engines
Billing/OSS cluster – hosts the WEB Portal and all billing processes
Softswitch cluster – controls voice signaling
A web portal was provided for Sonic’s customers to manage account details, download CDRs and monitor traffic and revenue information
